You’ve decided you want a vacation in the Adirondacks, but your teenagers aren’t particularly stoked on the idea of mountains and lakes and fresh air. Let me help. I too was once a surly teenager, but I grew up in Tupper Lake, so I know all the fun things to do. Here’s my Top 10 List:

10. Water Safari in Old Forge (Summer)

9. Hike Mt. Jo (Spring/Summer/Fall)

8. Seaplane Rides in Long Lake (Spring/Summer/Fall)

7. Ice Skating on the Olympic Oval in Lake Placid (Winter)

6. Saranac Lake Winter Carnival (Winter)

5. Jump off The Bluffs (Summer)

4. Hike Mt. Arab (and climb the fire tower at the top) (Spring/Summer/Fall)

3. Kayak the Raquette River (and jump off the roap swings along the river on the way) (Summer)

2. Slide Down Bog River Falls (Summer)

1. Ski Big Tupper (and hike to the fire tower at the top of Chair 3 to ski fresh powder) (Winter)
